G’day! I’m Jillian — self-taught artist and founder of dirt road.

I’m all about capturing the wild, rugged beauty of the Aussie bush—whether it’s through bold, vibrant paintings or the raw detail of a charcoal drawing. My work is a love letter to this land: honest, unfiltered, and a bit rough around the edges (just like the outback ).

Art found me during a pretty rough patch—a time of recovery and healing that, honestly, wasn’t much fun. Picking up a pencil and teaching myself to draw turned out to be the lifeline I didn’t know I needed. It cracked open a whole new world of creativity and, somehow, helped me find my purpose (hello, entire personality!).

Charcoal drawing was my first true love—the realism, the moody monochrome, and the hands-on, dusty mess of it all. These days, I’ve added painting to the mix, inspired by earthy tones and bush-inspired themes that feel like home.

My hope? That my art brings you a sense of peace and reflection. That it inspires you to pause, take a breath, and soak in the beauty that’s around us.

So come along for the ride (fair warning, it might be bumpy). Each piece I create carries a bit of my heart and soul, and I can’t wait to share it with you.
